About Prayer Services
Once each quarter, we set aside our Sunday morning gathering for a focused time of prayer as a church family. These services are a little different from our typical Sunday format, but they reflect something we believe is central to our life together—seeking God in prayer.
During a prayer service, the sanctuary is arranged to encourage prayer in small groups, while still allowing space for personal reflection. We walk through a passage of Scripture together, often dividing it into sections. An elder offers a brief reflection on each section and provides a simple prayer prompt to guide us. Some moments are set aside for quiet, personal prayer, while others invite those who are comfortable to pray out loud with others. Each section of the service concludes with a song led by our music team.
If you’re visiting for the first time, you are invited to participate at whatever level you feel comfortable. You are welcome to simply observe, reflect, or pray quietly in your own way. Whether you feel comfortable praying silently or aloud, we want you to feel at ease.
In many ways, the morning will feel familiar—the service will be similar in length, but children’s ministry is offered throughout the whole service in our prayer service. Our aim is to create a space that is peaceful, sincere, and centered on God.
We believe we are called to pray together as a church (Mt 6:9-13; Lk 11:2-4; Ac 2:42, 46). Jesus himself taught us to pray in a way that draws us together to God as our Father. These gatherings are an opportunity for us to slow down, listen, and bring both our gratitude and our needs before Him together (1 Peter 5:7).
We would love for you to join us.
